We’ve always been about action. The whole reason the job share came about twelve years ago was through our desire to change our experience, as women at work who were trying to build a career and enjoy life at large. To take back ownership of our choices, and the energy we gave to work and home and the mindset we led with.
We knew creating change meant challenging the status quo. Little did we know that our action would take the form of a job-share - a ‘daring two’ - or realise just how hard forging that path would be.
In pursuing a new way of working we’ve pushed for career progression, dealt with bias, and managed our own crushing disappointment in a system which often felt to be working against us.
So, we know, first-hand, how hard it is to find your voice, to feel confident in your ability to create change within that system. We also know it can feel almost impossible to shift the long held limiting beliefs that seed the paralysing mindsets of doubt and fear.
For this reason, Daring Two is about advocacy and action. It’s about showing a very personal commitment to creating big and small changes that positively impact women’s advancement. It’s a way for us to use our experience to challenge stereotypes, discrimination and bias, as we raise up those that need sponsorship and some support.
We hope you enjoy – and that our chat might inspire you to #accelerateaction yourself.
